Candidate-reported interview process

I had a phone interview, an online interview, and then an in-person interview in Austin, TX for a job in Fort Collins, CO. I was living in California at the time. When I got there, it seemed obvious they weren't going to hire me. It felt like a waste of everyone's time and resources.

So, I've worked at Aspen Heights for a couple of years now and applied for a bunch of different roles. It's wild that they don't seem to remember you, even though I interacted with tons of people. Their communication isn't great, so you always have to chase them. They've started doing these video interviews now where you answer typed questions by recording yourself. It feels super impersonal.

The interview was conducted through JobInvite with a computer. I initially thought it would be a live interview via Skype due to location, but I had to record myself answering questions. It felt quite awkward. The questions were mostly situational, with two exceptions. While I understand the trend for creative answers, it felt a bit silly. Two out of five questions were about favorite ice cream flavors and preferred hairstyles. It seemed like they were looking for unique responses, but it's getting tiresome. It would be better to have a live person conduct interviews, as it feels like they don't have time to meet prospective employees.
