It was a super long process but they did get back to me fast. The interview was in person and kinda dull so I passed on the job.

Got a call a few days after applying. Had a really good first interview with the manager. He mentioned he'd talk to his district manager. A few days later, I got another call asking if I could meet with him. He said his boss trusted his hiring decisions. The conversation immediately shifted to commission sales, not management. I didn't accept the offer and left. After thinking about it, I couldn't shake the feeling that my age was a factor. It felt like I was being pushed away from a management position just because of an assumption that I was too old to be a good manager.

The hiring representative was extremely slow to respond to emails, even before the 1-on-1 interview. After the interview, the communication was less than professional. If I didn't pass, I wish they would have just let me know instead of ignoring my requests for an answer. This experience with Ashley was unprofessional. The first impression a candidate gets is through the hiring process, and if that's messed up, you'll lose good talent. Based on my own extensive hiring experience, I wouldn't have accepted a position here after this process. If they can't get this crucial part of the business right, other areas might also be questionable.
