Ascend Analytics Software Engineer interviews, decoded.

There were two non-technical interviews, the first with a recruiter and the second with an engineer. Following that, there was a coding interview with another engineer. The technical interview was done in Python and was pretty straightforward.

The interview process was pretty standard. First, there was a quick chat with the recruiter. Then, a developer had a technical discussion with me. After that, I had a technical interview that involved live coding. Finally, there was a conversational interview to go over logistics.

So the whole thing took about 3 days from start to offer. The first chat was with the hiring manager, then I talked to a senior engineer and a product manager. They mostly asked about my background and if I was keen on working there, nothing too wild. Right after that, I had a super chill chat with the CEO, just a quick hello basically. Got the offer the next morning. But yo, the job they offered wasn't what I applied for at all. Between that and how fast they wanted to get me started, it felt kinda sketchy, so I passed.
