After the first round interview, which seemed to go very well, I was completely ghosted. I sent two follow-up emails to the recruiter and never heard back. It's wild, especially since it's a small company still building its name. Sending a quick follow-up email, even an automated one, isn't hard. This whole thing is super unprofessional and makes the company look bad. Even huge, successful companies give you a response after an in-person interview. Good thing I didn't waste more than an hour on them.
The interview was super chill, with a lot of good conversation. It seemed like the employer was passionate about the company and their mission and it was nice. The technical portion was extremely simple, regarding data structures.
It was pretty straightforward, a bunch of Zoom meetings over a 4-6 hour stretch. They asked stuff about culture fit, technical knowledge, and some situational questions about managing.
