Array (NY) Software Engineer interviews, decoded.

The process was pretty easy to follow. First, I spoke with a recruiter, then I had an interview with an engineering manager that included a systems design part, and finally, I had to complete a take-home technical problem.

It was a pretty long interview process, about 7 weeks in total, but it felt like a good use of my time and really showed what I could do. It started with an online JS assessment and a personality quiz, followed by a recruiter call and an interview with the CTO. Then there was a take-home assignment that wasn't timed and was actually pretty fun. After that, I had a Systems Design Interview and a Behavioral interview. I got the offer about 1-2 weeks after the last interview. It was definitely longer than other interviews I've done, but everyone I talked to was great, and the recruiters were really supportive and kept in touch.

So I had a really bad experience with Array. The interview process had four rounds. You get feedback after each one, and it was good, especially the last one. But, the CTO makes the final call on offers. After the last interview, I waited three weeks with no word. Then the recruiter called and said no offer. I was bummed because I thought I did well. Three weeks of silence and then no offer. They say they pay well, but the recruiter said the salary for a Senior Software Engineer is $100K to $125K, which I think is low compared to other places.
