I first connected with the recruiter, Matt, on LinkedIn, which quickly led to a brief call. After that, a meeting was set up with a GPM for the product sense interview. I really liked how they respected my time and were efficient; their recruiting operations seem to run smoothly. The next steps involve meeting various team members over the coming weeks. They have a startup culture focused on building and founding, which might not suit everyone, but I personally enjoy it.
The interview process here is a bit of a joke. Taking some sort of standardized test is absolutely ridiculous, and it's seem pretty clear individuals I interviewed with have some underlying concerns around the business strength and just how involved the CEO is. I asked pretty directly having read through other Glassdoor reviews and it seems pretty obvious there's very little autonomy. Run.
Before any interviews, there's an IQ test, an emotion test, and a data test. HR explained the process well and has the right to ask for these quizzes if they decide to. I don't personally think these are the best way to assess potential employees (maybe the data one, but I couldn't even finish it due to a site error). This company seems to need a very specific kind of person who can thrive in a chaotic environment. It's important to ask about their company culture, internal processes, and how they approach their work, as it's quite different from many other organizations, which is fine.
