The department I was hoping to teach for interviewed me on-site. They asked me some tough questions to make sure I'd be a good fit for their department. They checked to see if I had the experience and knowledge to teach students well and also helped me understand more about what they expected.
The chair of the search committee reached out to me to set up a phone interview. It was a pretty casual chat with basic questions, lasting about half an hour. Then, the on-site interview, which was one day long, felt friendly and pretty relaxed. I met with the whole committee of 5 people, and they asked questions that seemed planned out and pretty standard.
You'll meet with three IT heads and the school's CIO. Expect mostly scenario-based questions about how you've handled issues in previous projects. The CIO left about 5 minutes into the interview to meet with some salespeople. After driving over 1000 miles for this, you'd hope for the basic courtesy of sitting with the CIO for the entire 30 minutes.
