I started with a phone screen with HR, and the next day had a 45-minute Teams interview with someone from QC. They asked me about my experience in the role. After that, they said I'd hear back about the next steps, but when I followed up with HR, I was ghosted. Honestly, I thought they'd at least have the decency to give some kind of response. It felt like a waste of my time.
So, I had this in-person screening thing, right? It was with the recruitment team, the hiring manager, some other team members, and even someone not from the department. They asked me some star questions and about my technical experience. Weirdly, nobody was at the front desk when I got there. The talent recruiter showed up like 20 minutes late to grab me. Then they asked me a behavioral question, and then asked it again, like, three more times after I answered each time. It was pretty uncomfortable, honestly.
I had an initial 30 min phone call with HR where we discussed my background and they gave me details about the role, company, and team. HR mentioned they might adjust my title to match my experience for salary purposes. Next, I had a 45 min online Teams interview with the hiring manager, which went a bit over the scheduled 30 mins. The final round was an on-site in Maryland, consisting of 45 min 1:1 interviews with the team. They covered my travel expenses, including flights, food, and hotel.
