I had one interview with the hiring manager. It was a discussion and I wasn't totally sure what they were looking for with the questions. They explained the process and I expected another interview, but it didn't happen.
So, it was an onsite thing, and there were three people for the first round. They went through a lot of stuff, pretty much everything. Then, they brought up their website and asked me to look at it and tell them how to make it better. It was tough because I hadn't seen the site before, so it was hard to be critical or come up with good ideas right away.
The recruiter was upfront about how things would go, which was appreciated. They actually record part of the first chat, likely so a higher-up doesn't have to re-interview folks. The recruiter said they'd get back to me but ghosted. I followed up twice over a month with zero reply. Tried the hiring manager, also no dice. Ended up going straight to the CEO, who replied super fast on a weekend. The hiring manager then got back to me the next day. You can guess why. It's a lot for a candidate to chase down basic info. And the recording thing was weird, I wasn't ready for that and think it made my interview not great.
