So the interview process started with an initial HR screening, you know, just some basic stuff. Then I talked to the hiring manager. After that, they had me do a copyediting test. Then there was a big four-hour block of interviews scheduled, with different people from around the company in one-hour chunks.
I had 8 virtual interviews over 2 days with employees, many of whom were in my field or leadership. Some interviews had multiple interviewers. The process concluded with a virtual presentation of my research, similar to a brownbag, followed by a Q&A. The interviews were diverse, ranging from casual chats about the company to in-depth technical discussions about my skills. It was a good experience overall, though a bit intimidating. The employees were very open and honest, giving me a clear picture of the job. I've since joined Aptima and have been on the interviewing side, aiming to provide the same clarity to new candidates.
I had an initial call with HR, then two interviews with the team, followed by a final multi-round interview with different team members. Some interviews were panels, others were one-on-one. There was also a 40-minute presentation about a past project. It was a really good experience; everyone was nice and seemed happy to be there. No tricky questions.
