I applied online. The next day, I got a quick 5-minute phone call asking me to come in for an onsite interview that same week. HR didn't really sell the company to me on that first call, but I asked for a follow-up call before coming in. The onsite interview itself was pretty standard, the team seemed nice enough. It was a bit disorganized, but not in a bad way. The office and labs were a bit old-fashioned compared to what I'm used to. I had already inquired about the starting pay of $90k during the follow-up call, and they weren't willing to go above $95k. After the onsite, I got ghosted. The whole interview process was fast, even if a bit unconventional, which I did appreciate.
HR Director called me for a 30-minute phone chat. Then, I had a 2-hour Skype interview with the Hiring Manager, VP, and HR Director. They also asked for references, needing 2-3 contacts' information. The whole hiring process took about 2 weeks.
So first there were two phone chats, one with HR and then the hiring manager. After that, I went onsite to meet up with a bunch of scientists and managers from different areas. Then I had to give a presentation. Finally, I met with the executives.
