It was one round, a virtual interview with both the supervisor and the person above them. They asked basic questions.
The interview was straightforward. It seemed like they were more interested in my ability to learn rather than just what I already knew. The questions were mainly about general concepts and whether I understood them and how I'd used them before.
First, I had a phone screen with the hiring manager. They asked me behavioural questions and questions about my past technical experience. Then, there was a take-home coding assessment. After that, I had a technical interview with a panel of senior scientists, which included a live-coding session. Finally, I had a 45-minute oral presentation on Zoom or in person.
