Candidate-reported interview process

Applied online and got a quick response. The head of the department was transparent and took extra time to answer my questions. It seemed to go well until salary expectations came up. My impression is they want to pay less, though upper management seems to do well. I asked for a mid-level salary, and I think that's why they didn't hire me. But the process itself was good, and everyone was friendly. A friend's friend who used to work there said they look great initially but become demanding with poor work-life balance later.

I applied online, and then general HR reached out. After that, regional HR contacted me to set up an in-person interview. The whole thing took about two weeks. Before I even applied, I was recommended to the manager.

I applied on a Sunday and got a call on Monday for a quick screening. Then I went in for an in-person interview on Friday. They were fast to schedule it, but then I never heard back. I was told about a second interview with a team, but it never happened. It felt like I was lied to or they changed their minds. I wouldn't apply here again.
