AppFolio Software Engineer interviews, decoded.

Started with a recruiter screening call, then had a 75-minute technical interview with an engineer and a manager, covering system design and coding. After that, there was a final behavioral interview.

Had an HR call, then a technical interview with a senior engineer. After that, there were two back-to-back interviews with hiring managers (one technical, one behavioral). Finished with an HR offer call. The whole process was pretty easy and chill.

The whole process has 5 steps. First, you talk to the recruiter. If that goes well, you'll schedule a technical assessment with the engineers. I only got to the technical interview stage, which I thought went okay. They'll ask you some systems interview questions and then you have to solve a coding problem. I solved the coding problem and the interviewer ended the call. I waited over a week for my results but never heard back from the recruiter. I emailed them to follow up but still no response. I then called the recruiter and it turns out she forgot about me. For other developers applying here, be careful because it seems like they ghost people. I wouldn't waste my time.
