Candidate-reported interview process

I applied online. About three weeks later, a manager reached out via email for an interview. Three weeks after that, I got an offer. The interview style seemed to depend a lot on the interviewer. Even though it's a technical role, there weren't any technical questions. They focused on how I think and what kind of work I'm excited about. It felt like fit was super important.

The interview process was efficient and prompt. It consisted of two parts: a phone call with the recruiter and an in-person meeting with the team. The interview was not a typical structured one. They mainly inquired about my research, the reasons behind my academic choices, and asked questions related to my resume. Overall, it was quite simple.

The process lasted about two months. Both interactions were virtual due to the pandemic. I got to ask good interview questions and also met the team.
