The recruiter reached out to me first. Then I had a 45 min phone screen with the manager. The manager spent 15 mins talking about their work and the team, and then another 15 mins asking about my background and resume. After that, they asked a few basic C++ questions. Following the phone screen, I was given two online assessments, both focusing on C++ skills. One assessment was easy, but the other was extremely difficult. Ultimately, I was rejected.
So first I had a chat with HR over the phone, then I did a technical phone interview. About two weeks after that, they invited me for an onsite.
I was first contacted by a recruiter on LinkedIn for a role involving Ansys Discovery Live, which sounds like a really cool product. The job needed strong CUDA and C++ skills. I was upfront with the recruiter that my CUDA skills aren't the best, but they still scheduled me for an on-site interview. During the interview, one person didn't show up, so I had to wait around for a while before someone else came. I didn't really get the vibe that the interviewers were super interested in me, and honestly, one of the interview rounds felt a bit disrespectful.
