The interview process involved a recruiter screen, a director interview, an assessment, and a presentation with the team. It was pretty straightforward until I got an email from the recruiter canceling my interview due to errors in the assessment table. I double-checked my work, comparing my formulas to the provided data and found no errors. I asked for feedback on the errors but received none. It felt rude to have someone spend their weekend on an assessment and then deny them the chance to present their thought process to the team, especially for an entry-level role. This is why people are hesitant to do assessments and free work.
Had an intro call with the recruiter, it was a standard screener and it went well, pretty easy. Then I had a call with the hiring manager. After that, I had a take-home test to check my skills, the turnaround was quick, like 2-3 days, but it was doable. Finally, there was a panel interview with some team members.
It started with a screening call with HR, then there were three rounds. The first two interviews were with team leads, and the last one was with the director. They ended up not giving me an offer after weeks of interviewing and then weeks of being ghosted. I'm kind of wondering if they didn't hire me because I have a neurodivergent disability, as they didn't give me any feedback on why they decided not to move forward.
