Candidate-reported interview process

Got in touch with alumni from my school. Got my resume in with a referral. Had a quick chat about the role. Then did a pre-assignment, but didn't get any further interviews. The process was straightforward. I wish they had given more details for the pre-interview assignment and not been so strict with the time limit.

The interviewer was really nice, but the process felt super intimidating for an entry-level position. I had to take a quiz, answer some math questions over Zoom, and then do another quiz afterward without a calculator. It didn't really seem like the best way to test what someone can actually do, even though it seems like a nice company, the interview process itself was a bit much.

It was a long and annoying process, way more than it needed to be. So many rounds, which are supposed to filter out people who aren't technically skilled, but honestly it just seems like they're being arogant and trying to scare people off. Doesn't really make me think the company culture is great.
