I didn't get through the assessment stage. The assessment questions were a bit strange and some felt like they were from a long time ago. It was a multiple-choice test, and the code examples had bad formatting, making them hard to read. But, they did offer extra time for people with disabilities, which was cool and something I haven't seen before.
It was a long process taking a couple of weeks, about 5 rounds total. Started with an online coding task, then an HR interview, followed by two technical calls. One of the technical calls involved a practical live coding exercise. After that, there was a call with the lead, and finally, a call with one of the founders. Felt like too many rounds, and the live coding part wasn't ideal.
First up was a 15-30 min video call with HR. Then, a coding quiz covering web concepts like sockets, CORS, HTTP, and JavaScript. The main part was a 2-hour technical interview. The first hour was hands-on, building a React PhoneInput component to mask input into the American phone format. The second hour focused on conceptual questions and code interpretation: predicting the output of a JavaScript snippet involving console.log, setTimeout, and Promises, explaining what promises are and their purpose, detailing the event loop mechanism, and differentiating between two specific useEffect hook implementations concerning state updates.
