AMETEK Software Engineer interviews, decoded.

We met on zoom and the interviewer was professional. I was asked to describe a current project I was working on and about real-time OS and constraints of working on a microcontroller.

The interview process was smooth and streamlined, with nothing much to complain about. The difficulty was average, not too simple and not too complex. Overall, it was a good experience.

started with a 15 min chat with the recruiter, then a 30 min call with the hiring manager. next up was a panel interview with the hiring manager, an engineer, and the plant manager. after that, i had to do this annoying personality assessment which took over 4 hours and was a total waste of time. the final step was an all day on-site interview that included lunch. they also gave me a site tour, i had a 30 min virtual call with the director (weird since i drove 3 hours for an onsite), and gave a 30 min presentation. everyone seemed nice and welcoming but still no response after 3 weeks, and i haven't gotten reimbursed for my rental car yet. overall, it felt unprofessional and slow.
