American Heart Association Communications Manager interviews, decoded.

My interview process was very quick and accelerated. I quickly received a response from the local team regarding my application and was scheduled for an initial, in person interview that next week. I quickly proceeded to 2 virtual interviews with other members of the regional team. Each interview was very thorough and reflected the priorities of each of the team members I interviewed with. I was able to ask a lot of questions and get a good glimpse into the company, the role and the culture. I felt like everyone was direct and candid and wanted to make sure I fully understand the role and the expectations of the company.

The interview process felt quite long, although it was pretty thorough. It began with a video interview, then a call with a recruiter, and after that, two zoom interviews with the hiring manager and some other team members. I initially applied in early March, and it took about a month before they reached out for the video interview. Each subsequent interview was scheduled at least two weeks apart. The people interviewing me were really friendly and asked some interesting questions.

I applied through their online system. About a week after applying, they sent me a link for a one-way video interview that I needed to complete within 4 days. Then, about a week later, I got a call from a recruiting director for a phone interview. The week after that, I had interviews with the Executive Director and the VP for Communications for the region. They let me know their decision two business days after that.
