Candidate-reported interview process

The interview process was intense and the people were unfriendly, but my passion for apparel kept me going. After a CV review and reference check, I was hired on the spot.

The first interview was with the District Manager, and the second interview was with the District Visual Manager and Store Manager. I brought my portfolio, which really helped me land this position because I could show my skill set. It was a mix of questions focusing on my work ethic, creativity, and personality.

Applied online and got a call back the next day. They hire people without experience if they seem like a good fit for the company. The interview was at a cafe near the store on Neal Street in London. It was a 15-minute one-on-one chat with the visual merchandising director, and it felt friendly and informal. I wore some American Apparel clothes. After the chat, I was asked to pick out 4 outfits from the store – two for women and two for men.
