I went through three full rounds of interviews. They told me I'd hear back soon, but after months, I still haven't heard anything. It seems rude not to let a candidate know if they got the job.
I had a phone screen for the job. The recruiter was very positive and made it sound like I was moving forward and would hear from the hiring manager soon. I didn't hear back for 7 days, and then I got an automated HR email saying they were moving on with other candidates, not even from the recruiter. I would have preferred honesty upfront instead of being led to believe I was progressing.
The interview process started with a phone screen, followed by one interview with HR and the Hiring Manager. The final interview was with the CEO, HR, and Hiring Manager. It all went really well, felt welcoming and positive, all hints were towards a job offer, even asked for references, handed me business cards, but only to have them send a rejection email 7 business days later to “to move forward with other candidates who align more closely with what they need right now.” A lot of time is spent preparing and waiting for next steps for these interviews and if the chances were low to begin with then don’t drag it on and pretend that hiring could be a possibility.
