It was a smooth process. The department chair had a lot of questions ready for me. I had to give a presentation, and students and other faculty members were present. The atmosphere was great, and everyone was friendly and respectful.
Applied online and then had an in-person interview. I followed up after two weeks because I hadn't heard back, but still no response. I never got an official reply. The communication was really bad during that time.
The department director was really keen on me accepting the salary before the interview wrapped up, which felt like a red flag. However, the university's general standards and mission were definite positives. Some changes have happened at the university since then.
