Standard getting-to-know-you questions, decide, your strengths, where you see yourself in 5 years. The engineer interview was a chance to show my tech skills and problem-solving abilities. I talked about past projects and how I'm passionate about innovation. The relaxed vibe made the meeting enjoyable and productive.
Recruiter reached out via email. I sent my resume and was submitted to the client. After that, there was silence. No follow-up and no response to my emails asking for an update. About three weeks later, I got an interview request from the client. Once the interview was scheduled, Alpha contacted my references. I made it clear that references should only be contacted if an offer was pending. I interviewed with the client and tried to follow up afterwards, but Alpha never got back to me. Did the client hire someone? Was the position cancelled? It's very unprofessional of Alpha not to follow up with their candidates.
The hiring process included a phone screen and then an in-person interview. Things moved a bit slowly because of the holidays. The phone interview was brief, and the in-person interview had three interviewers.
