Candidate-reported interview process

I submitted my application and all required materials online. I was then contacted via email, and the entire process took about two weeks. The interview itself was a panel style, with all the current interns and their lead involved in conducting it. It lasted for approximately 25 to 30 minutes.

Straight forward interview. First round with the intern coordinator and second round with the specific team. Interviews were more of a discussion than a question-and-answer format, talking about the mission of the org, the tasks of the job, etc. The whole process from initial referral to an offer lasted about 2 months.

I completed the process via a phone interview because I wasn't located in DC. They also requested a follow-up writing sample. Typically, candidates for an intern position have an in-person interview. After an offer was extended, I filled out a standard application form, including details about my experience, references, and education.
