AllCloud Project Manager interviews, decoded.

The people I met were really nice. I had five interviews, each with a different manager, and they all lasted between 30 to 45 minutes. They wanted to know about my past experiences. The whole process was quite smooth and moved quickly.

I had a 1-on-1 interview with the Delivery Manager via video call. It was a good session. We discussed some questions, reviewed my experience, and I shared some examples. After that, I had an HR interview. This one didn't go so well because the HR person made some assumptions about me that I didn't agree with, and it kind of pissed me off. She didn't really know me after only talking for 30 minutes, and her assumptions were off base. I think that's why I didn't get passed. It's a shame, they missed out on a great PM.

The HR person was very nice but they didn't make it clear what they were hiring for. I wish I'd pushed harder to find out exactly what the role was. Because of this, the interview ended up being a backend architecture test, which is not my area of expertise, but I took the test anyway. What I learned is to only go for interviews where the job is clearly laid out beforehand.
