This was a negative experience. The interviewer had no interpersonal skills and didn't start with any introductions like normal interviews. Instead, they jumped right in, which was a red flag. Then they started to ask trick questions from the first minute, taking me aback. As I was processing to get some early signs to steer the conversation in a normal way, they cut me off. This person was supposed to be building and leading a team. Not sure how you can build a rapport with this type of person.
I had some good conversations with HR and the hiring manager. Then, I got a rejection email saying 'we felt that your previous b2b experience was somewhat limited.' After 8 years in B2B Product Management, I found this to be untrue and questioned their reasoning, but they never responded. It was quite disappointing, and they should really be more careful with their standard rejection emails.
We had an initial screening with a senior product person, followed by a main product design interview with a PM and an engineering lead. Then, there was a behavioral interview with people from different departments like user testing, design, and development. Finally, there was a screening with the hiring manager.
