Candidate-reported interview process

After you submit your online application, they'll usually invite you to a group interview with about 10 other candidates. A recruiter will explain the role and what's needed. If you do well, you'll move on to a 1:1 interview and get a store tour. The whole thing was pretty quick, only took me about 2 weeks to get hired.

The interview was a virtual group assessment on Teams, it lasted for about 40 minutes. This was the second step of the application after an online assessment. Each candidate did an interview and then we had one task to do as a group.

First, there was a virtual group assessment on MS Teams. Everyone introduced themselves, talked about why they want to work at Aldi, and shared their favorite Aldi product. Then, we looked at different scenarios about prioritizing tasks. We had to discuss with others and rank them from low to high priority, explaining why. One person was chosen to present to the interviewer. I got an email within 4 days asking if I was successful and invited to the next stage, which was a face-to-face interview at a store with the Area Manager. During the interview, I was asked questions and given scenarios to explain how I'd handle them, like a spillage, calls at the tills, deliveries, and a blocked aisle.
