It started out smooth, they said they'd get back to me. Then, radio silence for over a month. The recruiter didn't even bother to say the job was filled. I found out from someone who works there, and still, no word.
It started with a phone screening by an external recruiter, then a virtual 1:1 with the RM, and then a virtual meeting with the NSM and HR. The whole thing felt superficial, disingenuous, and the people involved seemed disengaged. The expected Manager never showed up, so the RM stepped in with HR. Honestly, it felt like a pointless exercise, just going through the motions. They're really looking for grad ophthalmologists and will end up wasting your time. The leaders seemed to have poor emotional intelligence and arrogance, and were very inexperienced. It was a very disappointing experience. Alcon, being spun off from Novartis, seems clunky, clumsy, and directionless right now.
It was a pretty long process, like, I met with a bunch of different people, some higher up than others. It took about 4 months from when I first heard from them to when they gave me the offer. I'd say there were interviews roughly every 3 weeks.
