It was a standard interview process. Nothing unusual happened.
I saw two jobs posted on my school's career site from Alcoa: a Sr. Financial Analyst in Procurement and a Commodity role. I applied for both but felt I was a better fit for the Commodity one. After an info session, I was told to contact a specific employee, which I did. Pretty soon after, I got an interview for the Sr. Financial Analyst job. They said they'd consider me for both but I only needed to interview for one.
The interview process at the Newburgh location was disorganized, with repeated promises of an offer that took weeks to materialize. HR kept scheduling more interviews, extending the process to over two months. The hiring manager, who had identified me as the top candidate, left the company mid-process. I withdrew my application due to their unprofessionalism and disregard for candidates' time, making it my worst interview experience.
