The interview had a very welcoming vibe. The committee seemed genuinely interested in me as a candidate, especially considering the 45 minutes they gave for the initial interview.
I had a phone interview first, then went to campus. I met with campus partners to talk about the position, which was like a casual chat to learn about how different departments work together. After that, I met people from the department who asked me standard interview questions.
It's a small campus setting, and most professors are really interested in getting to know students and nurturing their curiosity and learning. Talking one-on-one about coursework is a great way to explore getting involved in research projects and TA positions.
