Candidate-reported interview process

I went to the SWE Conference and connected with an Albemarle representative about job openings. She reached out two weeks later to schedule an initial phone screen with the hiring manager for an R&D Engineer role in Baton Rouge, LA.

This is an extremely long process that follows the typical interview process: HR, technical interviews, team interviews, etc. They ask you to give a 20 min technical presentation. Beware: they are not really interested in hiring you. They just want to pick your brain and gain information. Do not bother to interview. This company uses questionable tactics to gain commercial advantage. At the end of the long interview process, they just simply tell you they are not going to hire you, as if nothing.

I had an HR phone screen first. If that went well, I was invited for a one-day onsite interview. During the onsite, I met with three different managers for behavioral interviews. They really dug into my technical knowledge and my experience with plant/refinery operations. It was pretty straightforward!
