The hiring manager I talked to was super personable, making the interview feel more like a casual chat. It was enjoyable. But, my last interview hit a snag when the interviewer didn't show up. I emailed them, no response. I had to chase the recruiter to find out what happened. Apparently, the interviewer supposedly showed up, waited 5 minutes, and then left. Thing is, I was right there on the call, and early at that. It felt weird and kinda gave me a vibe about the company culture.
First up was a 30 min phone chat with the internal recruiter. It was pretty chill, just covering basics, what the job is about, and what they're looking for in a candidate. Then, a 30 min Zoom call with the hiring manager. She seemed kinda stressed, overworked, or maybe just in a bad mood. She was distant, and her questions and overall vibe were not great.
It was a really thorough process, they seemed really invested in me and took their time to find the right fit. It was a 5 step process that gave me all the information I needed and let me meet several people on the team.
