Candidate-reported interview process

The front desk person was really nice and welcoming. The office has great furniture and a city view, with music playing, making it seem like a cool place to work. The interview was fast and to the point. Vivint seems like a great company and I'm eager to work with cell phones. I'm excited for the next interview!

I applied on LinkedIn for what was advertised as an Entry Level Marketing position. The next day, I received an email and text inviting me to an in-person interview at their office, which seemed professional. The interviewer was polite and professional. However, the role they were actually interviewing me for was a Sales Associate position, selling cellphone plans in department stores with an hourly wage plus commission. This bait-and-switch is misleading, especially for recent grads. While I understand sales and marketing share some skills, misrepresenting the role is not helpful. Companies in Orlando often do this, marketing a position that isn't what's offered in the interview.
