Candidate-reported interview process

I had a standard conversation with the HR representative. It was a pleasant experience, and I felt like it was a good match. However, after that, I heard nothing for over a month. My follow-up emails, even just to ask if they had moved on, went unanswered. Finally, exactly five weeks after the interview, I received an email informing me that they had selected another candidate.

Went through several rounds met 12 ppl was told by HR I was the choice. Then ghosted for months only to get an automated rejection email. The absolute most unprofessional process I have ever been a part of. HR communication was non existent I will never look for jobs here again and plan on spreading the word to all my networks.

It was a pretty intense interview day with many people asking a lot of different kinds of questions. Some interviewers were people I had worked with before, and others were people I'd end up collaborating with closely later on. The questions weren't as specific as I'd hoped, and the process was so tough that I probably wouldn't have taken the job if I hadn't already done some freelance work with the team and really liked it.
