The interview basically was a programming exercise. I had to build a Google-like text field that autocompletes a given list of words. I nailed the exercise with time left over. The interviewer was happy and said he'd tell HR I was accepted, shaking my hand and saying 'See you back soon then'. A week went by with no news from Agfa HR. I ended up contacting them for an update and was surprised to find out the job was already filled. They didn't even tell me. It was a really disrespectful way to treat potential new colleagues. Then I asked them to pay back my train ticket, as I felt I was treated poorly... no prizes for guessing their response.
I applied on their website and then had a quick HR phone interview with basic questions. The HR person was very friendly. Two weeks later, I had a second phone interview with the project leader. He explained the project, which was interesting, and then asked me a few simple questions.
My friend referred me, and after that an HR person reached out within a couple days. She scheduled an interview with the hiring manager. The manager had a list of technical questions. It was pretty standard stuff about Java, OOP, and app servers. Then I had a group interview with some team members, including an architect, and also a design problem and presentation with the manager. It felt very organized.
