Got a call from an external recruiter, who was awful. Then it was a really tough and unprofessional process to get the first interview with HR. Everything was done through LinkedIn messages. The interview itself was weird. The person interviewing me said they had an HR/marketing background, which felt like a red flag. Then they mentioned the position had 5 direct reports, which the recruiter didn't tell me about. And 4 out of those 5 weren't even in marketing, another red flag.
I went through two interviews, each about 40 minutes long. First, I spoke with the Team Manager, and then with the Engineering Director. Both interviews involved a mix of personal and professional questions, along with some technical questions and simple technical tasks.
It was two technical rounds. Not a lot of coding, mostly testing basics and SQL. They asked about my previous experience with testing and processes. Also asked what I was looking for. There was a simple Java code interpretation question.
