The interview process had an HR screening over the phone and then four in-person panel interviews. Everyone was really nice. I met the VP of Marketing and HR staff for the first in-person interview, which went well. The second in-person interview also went well; I met the grants coordinator and accounting specialist. I wouldn't recommend interviewing with Afterschool All Stars because they didn't let me know if I was moving forward even after I followed up. It felt unfair to not get any communication after I took time off work for the in-person interviews. I would have been fine if they had just told me they weren't moving forward with me, and I'm disappointed in how HR ended things.
The interview process involves two main parts. First, you'll meet with the Operations Grant Manager and a Program Support Specialist. After that, there's a second interview with the Senior Operations Grant Manager. The interviews will cover both your practical abilities and interpersonal skills, especially as they relate to working in a school environment.
The company president informed me during the interview about impending layoffs, which I'm glad I avoided. I met with the Development team and would have liked to work with them, but the president also stated, "you have to make this your life." NOPE, I was relieved to hear I was not offered the role the next day.
