Affirm Engineering Manager interviews, decoded.

The interview process started with a recruiter call, then a walkthrough of a past project, followed by 6 rounds of on-site interviews, which included 2 system design and 4 behavioral rounds. It was a very streamlined and good interview process. One of the system design interviews caught me off guard. I think I applied to the wrong position based on what I was asked in the interview. I feel I missed the opportunity to work in a great company because I applied for a wrong position.

I had a phone interview with a Recruiter, the Hiring Manager, and I think there was one other person, though I can't recall exactly. Then, a 3-hour coding take-home test. After that, an onsite with about 5 different interviews. Everyone involved was friendly and professional.

I had an initial call with the recruiter which went well. She mentioned she'd schedule me for the next steps in a few days. I never heard back from her though, but around 6 weeks later, I got an email saying they had moved forward with other candidates.
