Affirm Customer Success Manager interviews, decoded.

Had a screening call and legit never heard back from the recruiter. Whether or not it was a fit, the recruiting process should not be ghosting candidates. The interviewer was not pleasant either.

The interview process started with a 30-minute phone screen by the recruiter, followed by another 30-minute phone screen with the manager. Then, I had to prepare a mock presentation, which took about 2 hours (though it could take longer depending on how comfortable you are with the material). The final stage was a 4.5-hour interview with the team. It was disappointing because, except for the original manager, most of the interviewers weren't prepared and hadn't even reviewed my resume. Considering the significant time investment, including taking me away from my current job for over half a day, they really need to improve their interviewing practices.

I interviewed with Affirm about 5 years ago, before their IPO, and it was a great experience; the interviewer was friendly and even gave me feedback. I recently interviewed again via an employee referral. The recruiter no-showed our scheduled call but later emailed saying a company meeting ran over. During the interview, they didn't seem engaged with anything I said, making it feel like it was just a formality because of the referral.
