AES Corporation Project Manager interviews, decoded.

Had an HR phone screen, then met with the hiring manager, and finished with a panel interview. The whole thing took about a month from applying to getting the job. Mostly behavioral questions and I got to ask a lot of my own questions.

The whole interview process was pretty smooth and seemed to be organized well. The initial HR screening was straightforward and brief. The HR person was nice and was upfront about the timeline, saying it would take about 3 months, and also talked about salary expectations right away. I really enjoyed the panel interview, which was a big factor in my decision to accept the offer. It was clear they had really looked at my application beforehand; they asked insightful questions and gave me plenty of time to ask them questions back.

I applied online and about a week later got an email for a HireVue assessment. It had 13 questions, and I just had to type my answers, not record video like the email said. After I finished that, a recruiter called me. The job posting said it was remote, but she told me I'd have to relocate and then brought up other stuff like pay that she claimed she sent before, but didn't. It was frustrating because she said English wasn't her first language, which made communication tough sometimes. Honestly, it felt like a waste of my time.
