It was a really relaxed chat, more like a conversation than a formal interview. No time constraints, and it just went really smoothly. We covered the usual stuff about me and getting acquainted.
It was a 2-round process. First I spoke with a sales manager from inside the company, and then with a managing director who is also an executive vice president. Everything was done online and it went pretty well. HR got back to me on the same day as the second interview.
I sent my resume to the head of the department about a position they said would be opening. I then interviewed over the phone with about six employees across Boca, NYC, and San Antonio. Some current employees complained about how they manage sales and territories, which was a bit of a red flag, but I was willing to keep going. This was six months ago. They posted the job twice and told me it would open soon pending supervisor approval, saying the process was taking longer than anticipated. Even though it was my top choice, I stopped waiting for them. It's obvious the firm is disorganized and unsure of where it's headed. In hindsight, not getting an offer was probably the best career move.
