First, I had a chat with someone from a recruitment agency about my past work and skills. Then, there was a 4-hour remote technical interview with the company's engineers, where we dove deep into C and C++ stuff and some brain teasers over Skype. After that, I met with HR to go over salary and the logistics of moving to the US. Finally, I got the job offer and went through the visa application, which the company's lawyers mostly handled for me.
So, it started with a phone call with the hiring manager. Then, the next day, I had an interview with the rest of the team, which was a "behavioral" interview. This kind of interview is meant to get past your resume and rehearsed answers, which wasn't my favorite, but everyone was nice. The last interview was with the Director/VP of engineering and was way more chill. Honestly, besides the first phone interview, I didn't really get a chance to show what I know or talk about my work.
I was contacted by the Director of Embedded Software who found my resume interesting and wanted to discuss the opportunity. We had a call, and he asked me to describe my embedded software experience from my internship and my current job. He then explained what the company does and asked how my skills and experience aligned with the role and the company's work, and to reintroduce myself focusing on those matching skills.
