The interview process skipped the initial HR call. It started with a long application that had several short answer questions. Then, I had to submit writing samples. Finally, I had a phone interview with three team members. The call was quite unpleasant; the interviewers were brief, one was rude, and they asked standard questions without much engagement. They also seemed not to have read my writing samples. Without an HR call, I felt unprepared about the job's day-to-day and salary. I left unsure about proceeding, and they sent a rejection email a few days later.
