The whole thing took about two weeks and was pretty straightforward. First, they looked at my resume on their platform. Then, someone reached out, and we set up a chat. I had a behavioral chat with the hiring manager, who was really nice and asked the usual stuff like 'tell me about a challenging situation at work' and 'how would you deal with this and that'. After that, I had a technical chat with some of the engineers. They made me feel comfortable, which helped me explain my thinking when solving problems. If I got stuck, they'd ask guiding questions to get me back on the right track.
I had a brief 15-20 min chat with the recruiter, who mostly stuck to a script. Then, I had a good conversation with the Director, followed by a coding challenge. They said the challenge was straightforward. After that, I was supposed to meet with an engineer. I completed the coding problem, but a week later, I got a one-sentence email saying they weren't moving forward. I asked for feedback but never heard back. It feels like a waste of time for candidates to do a challenge and get no feedback.
So, because it's a new internship program, the HR person got in touch with me first for a phone interview. After that, they sent me a coding assessment. I was asked about my skills, what I've done before, and why I applied.
