The interview process was very tiring and tedious. I don't remember the recruiter's name. I was at my mother's viewing and couldn't take the phone interview. When I called them back, the recruiter was rude and nasty.
The interview process is very thorough. HR does their job well and I'm glad that ABF is so selective about the drivers they put in their trucks. So many companies just want a warm body to hold the steering wheel. This is where I think ABF sits above the rest of the companies out there.
They had a review process where you had to drive in their parking lot through an obstacle course. Once your driver record was proven, you were hired. They had the process all take place within one afternoon and I was called the day after with the job. I understand the reasoning behind such a difficult screening process. It makes sense but it is tough.
