Aberdeen Investment Analyst interviews, decoded.

It started with a resume screen. Then, we had a combined round with two investment team members where we worked through two case studies. One was a modelling test and the other was a qualitative case study for due diligence.

The interview process for the Credit Analyst role seemed to involve a bright team, but they were very focused on salary information, which was a bit off-putting even after I stated my preference not to disclose it. The office in downtown Boston was great, located on a top floor on Beacon St. I decided not to proceed to the second round because I didn't feel a connection with the team's culture. The second round would have included a full company analysis and a presentation to the group, which is pretty standard for this kind of job.

Talked with the hiring manager. It was a casual chat about technical skills and deals that were done. The hiring manager went over the current situation and what they see for the department and the company, both soon and later on.
