Aberdeen Analyst interviews, decoded.

Started by sending in my CV and got an invite for a phone interview a few days later. The interview itself was a bit off-putting because the interviewer seemed unsure how to ask questions and it felt like they might have been new to it. They also misunderstood something I said about developing within the role. It's been almost two weeks since I heard back about not being successful. The interviewer kept asking about the role and if I had any more questions, even after I'd already asked about three. It felt like it would be hard for them to tell candidates apart.

It was a competency-based interview and they regularly asked for examples. The whole thing lasted about 45 minutes, and I also got to ask some questions. There were two interviewers, and they mostly stuck to a list of questions.

The interview process felt like a formality, with the interviewer seeming uninterested. I had minimal prep time. They didn't ask about my background or relevant experience, and ultimately, no offer was extended.
