The whole thing took about three weeks and had two interviews. First one was over an hour on Zoom with an AARP recruiter, and the second was a 30-minute Zoom call with the department head.
I had a great interview experience. It involved both behavioral questions and a test of my technical skills. While I felt a connection with the interviewers, another candidate was ultimately deemed a better fit. It seems like a really nice place to work, and the facility itself was beautiful.
Applied online and after a phone screen with the recruiter, I was invited for an on-site interview with the hiring manager and some team members. They had a list of behavioral questions they read like a script, which felt a bit impersonal. One person mostly just observed without much interaction. Even though everyone was professional, I felt like I wasn't the right fit for what they were looking for and that it wasn't a mutual match. I left the process knowing I didn't want to work there, as it seemed a bit too formal and old-fashioned. They did get back to me quickly with a rejection within a week.
